Obituary for Timothy Terrance "Tim" Gilday
Timothy Terrence Gilday, age 51, died peacefully with his adoring wife by his side on Tuesday July 11, 2023 at his Shorewood, MN home after a long battle with cancer.
Tim was born on April 23, 1972 in Kingston, NY to Mr. Joseph Gilday Sr. and Mrs. Eleanor Gilday. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1990, received his AS degree in Engineering Science from Ulster County Community College in 1992 and his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995.
Tim's career as a semiconductor engineer brought him to Burlington VT, Richmond VA, and Albany NY as well as many international travels to Europe and Asia. On May 2, 2014, Tim was united in Marriage with Jenna Tietje in Minneapolis, MN. This marriage was blessed with a son, Grant.
Tim was loved by many and was known for having a quick wit, being an avid sports fan of the NY Yankees, Giants and Knicks, traveling the world, being a fierce friend and possessing an overall intelligence, kindness and stubborn streak. He loved his family and treasured the time he spent with his son, Grant, more than anything.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jenna Gilday, son, Grant Gilday, as well as his brothers Joseph Gilday, Patrick Gilday and Steven Gilday (wife Sheila).
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20th from 4 - 7 pm at Huber Funeral Home at 520 2nd St, Excelsior, MN 55331. Viewing will be held from 10 - 11 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am on Friday, July 21st at Mount Olivet Church West located at 150 Rolling Acres Rd, Victoria, MN 55331. In lieu of flowers, donations in Timothy's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org).
