Obituary for Steven James "Steve" Kentner

Steven James Kentner of Chanhassen, MN passed away on December 30, 2022 at 212 Medical Center in Chaska, MN. He was born on September 7, 1962 in Albert Lea, MN to Dean and Beverly Kentner. He grew up in St. Louis Park, MN playing baseball and hockey. Steve graduated from Wayzata High School keeping in contact with many of his friends throughout his life. He attended Mankato State and Madison, WI colleges. Steve enjoyed many years employed in the IT cyber security industry most recently at his favorite position working for NetSPI based out of their Minneapolis location. Steve loved the outdoors primarily being an avid biker. He had 208 worldwide followers on Strava and rode a total of 49,712 miles the last 10 years. His love of photography was shared by many along these rides and his love of sunsets at the cabin on Lake Traverse for 21 years were among his favorites. Preceded in death by his Father Dean Kentner, Stepfather Dick Clausen, Paternal grandparents James & Bernice Borge, maternal grandparents Melvin & Helen Burnett. Survived by his mother Beverly Kentner-Clausen, sister Kathy (Kris) Fredrickson, niece Claire Fredrickson, lifelong partner Denise Best, and his beloved dog Watson. Extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, Denise's five sisters, their spouses along with many other nieces and nephews. Funeral service 1:00 PM Saturday (1/7) at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie with visitation starting at 11:30 AM.
