Spencer Lee Conrad, Eden Prairie, MN, age 63, lost his year-long battle with cancer on May
21, 2021, at his home in Eden Prairie, surrounded by family. Spence was born on June 17,
1957, in Minneapolis to Lorrayne and Wally Conrad.

Spence graduated from EPHS and NHCC. He enlisted in the EP Volunteer FD while he was still
in HS, 1975, following in his dad’s footsteps. He was EPFD Volunteer Chief from 1990 to 2002.
He was awarded many accolades, including Medal of Valor and Firefighter of the year. His
career continued in firefighting equipment sales and training throughout Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorrayne (Krieger) Conrad.

He is survived by his father Wallace Conrad, wife Janet (Makie) Conrad, son Ben Conrad (Wie
Kelly), brother Curt Conrad (wife Rita and sons), sister Cyndee (Conrad) Barnes (husband Tom
and daughters and sons).

A memorial service will be held at Pax Christi, Eden Prairie, on Thursday, May 27th, at 3pm.
Due to COVID only close family and friends (masks required). Service will be live streamed at
pax christi.com. Arrangements are being handled by Huber Funeral home, EP. Following the
service there will be a celebration at Staring Lake Park.
