Sarah “Sally” Shaw Hively
On Saturday July 29, 2023, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 80. Sally was the oldest child born to John R and Doris Z (Hubbard) Shaw in Wilkinsburg, PA on February 8, 1943. She attended Kansas State University earning the Bachelors of Science Degree in Home Economics in 1965 followed by a Master’s of Science Degree in Home Economics Clothing and Textiles in 1973. An enthusiastic Kansas State fan she continued to enjoy watching Kansas State games on the TV, attending alumni events, and watching her grandson graduate from Kansas State.
While attending Kansas State Sally met Charles (Chuck) Hively and they were united in marriage on March 22, 1969 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Sally was an active member of Captain John Holmes Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pax Christi Quilting Ministry. Sally had a passion for sewing and could often be found behind her sewing machine working on one project or another.
