Obituary for Roger Allen Knudson

Roger Knudson passed away unexpectedly, and far too soon, on January 12, 2023. He was born in Breckenridge, MN on August 6th, 1963. He was raised on a farm in Rothsay, MN with his 7 brothers and sisters. After high school he joined the Army Reserves, where he served for 6 years while attending technical college studying Fluid Power and Diesel Mechanics. He began work as a forklift mechanic, remaining in this field for most of his career while working for Minnesota Supply Company and most recently Atlas Toyota. He was a man who could fix anything and never said no to helping anyone. Roger was adored by family and friends, and he was the steady rock for all those who knew him.

Roger enjoyed the outdoors, especially doing anything with a motor- taking snowmobiling trips, dragging the kids on a tube, or enjoying a sunny motorcycle ride. Roger was a proud member of the Lions Club. He was an active Troop leader for many years in the Boy Scouts. Roger also happily coached many sports that his children were involved in at Guardian Angels and Holy Family. Mentoring children was a passion Roger cherished dearly. He was a gentle soul who lived for his family. His favorite spot would be sitting on his deck watching the sunset over the lake.

He married his wife Debbie in 1994. They had two children, Emily (26) and Jacob (25). Roger’s crowning achievement was his success as a husband and father. Raising his wonderful children brought him the most joy in life; he was so proud of them. In every way possible he was a family man who always dropped whatever he was doing to help others. Words cannot express how dearly he will be missed.

Roger is survived by his wife Debbie, children Emily and Jacob, and family dog Jade. Also, by his two brothers, Ole (Elizabeth) Knudson, Richard (Nona) Knudson and his four sisters Julie Ann (Jeff) Holt, Sylvia (Mike) Lunski, Carolyn (Gary) Zoerner, and Donna (Chip) Oberg.
Proceeded in death by, infant son Allen Knudson, brother Ronald Knudson, parents Donald and Mary Ann Knudson, in-laws Paul and Jackie Radde.
