Obituary for Robert L "Bob" Stans
Robert L. (Bob) Stans, age 88, of Eden Prairie, passed away April 4th, 2023.
Bob was born June 8th, 1934 to Florian and Alice (Johnson) Stans in Minneapolis, MN. Bob grew up in Chaska, MN. After graduating from Chaska High School, he went on to study accounting at the University of Minnesota. He worked as a bank examiner before returning to the U of MN bookstores as their accountant for the next 36 years. It was there that he met Wanda. They were married on May 4th, 1963. They moved to Eden Prairie in 1965 to raise their family. Bob had many interests outside of work and family. He was an avid outdoorsman and a passionate waterfowl hunter. We will miss him dearly for his welcoming presence and giving spirit.
Bob is survived by his children, Amy (Dave) Norton of Eden Prairie, Richard (Kristin) Stans of Eden Prairie, and Carrie of Golden Valley; four grandchildren, Laurel and Rob Norton, Natalie and Gavin Stans; and brother, Alan (RoseAnn) Stans of Merrifield, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, and sister, Sally Milstroh.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Eden Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Ducks Unlimited (donate.ducks.org)
