Minger, Patrick J., age 66 of Chanhassen, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 9th 2022, born July 24th 1955 in Postville, IA. At the age of 20 he met the love of his life, Karen Schmitt. Which would bring 44 years of loving marriage and two boys Luke and Ben. Patrick enjoyed working on the family farm growing up. He took the hard work ethic from the farm to start Minger Construction in 1984. He started as a one man operation with a tractor backhoe. Today the company is a well-respected sewer and water contractor in the upper Midwest. His other passion was flying where he would take any opportunity to get in the sky.
Family was number one to Patrick and recently he enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren. He cherished his time at the cabin with family and friends and he took pride in holding a border line legal 4th of July fireworks display every year. His hobby of bird hunting in the Dakotas was more about time spent with his dog and friend’s then hunting. Pat had a generous spirit, a big heart, and was a friend to many.
Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ann. Survived by wife Karen, sons Luke (Cortney), Ben (Carol). Sister, Beth (Jerry) Einck and brothers Paul (Diane) Minger and Mark Minger; grandchildren: Teddy, Charlie, Odeya and Sebastian; brother-in-law Harvey (Pam) Schmitt; sister-in-law Joyce (Keith) Wilges; and nieces and nephews.
