Van Guilder, Marian Kay, was born April 21, 1938 and passed away July 20, 2021 at the age of 83. Marian grew up in Mound, Minnesota and was active in school including band, and graduated from Mound High School. She was then married and with her family lived in Eden Prairie. Marian was a mother of 3, grandmother of 6, step-grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 13. Marian’s earlier days were spent working for the Eden Prairie Schools holding numerous positions within the kitchen, famously known as the cookie lady. She then made a career working for Gelco/GE for several years in customer service and assisted in the company community giving programs. Marian dedicated most of her life giving of her time and talents to numerous volunteer organizations. In her last year’s she battled Lewy Bodies Dementia and resided at Trouvaille Memory Care in Excelsior. Survivors include Children: Debbie (VG) & Bryon Bequette of Chanhassen, Steve & Kathy Van Guilder of Savage, Pam (VG) & Pat McLaughlin of Vermont. Grandchildren and Step-Grandchildren: Chris & Tanja Buckner, Jenny & Greg Winegarden, Kelly & Jadi Taveras, Brian & Liz McLaughlin, Dave McLaughlin and Alexandra Van Guilder, Tom & Kristy Bequette, Stephen Bequette, and John Bequette. Great Grand Children: Kinsley, Collins & Max Winegarden; Elisabeth & Nicholas Buckner; Zuri, James & Kai Taveras; Isabella, Mariella, Savannah & Beau McLaughlin. Brothers John Von Eschen & Pat, George Von Eschen & Marsha, Vern (Butch) Von Eschen and Sister Vallory Wagner & Jack. She is preceded in death by: Father and Mother, Vern & Hellen Von Eschen and Step-grandson David Bequette. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 28th at 1 PM at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie, with visitation starting at 12:00 PM.
