Obituary for Kathleen Lynn "Kathy" Lawrence (MacKinnon)
Kathleen Lynn Lawrence MacKinnon passed away unexpectedly July 19, 2023 at the age of 59. She was born June 17, 1964 in Edina Minnesota. Kathy graduated from Bloomington Jefferson high school in 1982 attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated 1986.
She is survived by her husband Harry of 30 years and her children Charlie, Cole, and Abby her parents, Don, and Lois MacKinnon, sister, Lori, and brother David and many nieces and nephews.
Harry & Kathy met at UMD in 1985 after having 4 out of 5 classes together during the fall semester. Given that Kathy was a very dedicated student, Harry decided to ask Kathy if he could copy off of her notes.
From there, they began dating in January and continued their journey after college in separate states. However, long distance did not stand a chance against their connection as they dated for 8 more years until both landing in Minneapolis and marrying in 1993.
In 1995, they welcomed their first son Charlie and settled in Eden Prairie. 2 years later they decided to grow their family, welcoming their second son Cole. Upon the arrival of their 3rd child Abby in 2002 they moved to their forever home on Antlers Ridge.
Harry & Kathy have an undeniable bond. Their relationship was truly a best friendship and they built a home full of love and laughter for their 3 children. Their unconditional love full of fond memories, laughter, and bliss will be cherished and last forever.
Kathy had a long successful career in sales. She was known for her commitment and strong work ethic. Kathy will especially be remembered for her dedication to her family and friends, and was always the happiest surrounded by the ones she loves.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love prayers and support from countless individuals.
A celebration of life will take place at 11 AM Monday July 24, 2023 St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Dr., Eden prairie with visitation starting at 10 AM.
