Myers, John Daniel (Dan) Age 68 of Mound, passed away on October 29, 2022. He was born on May 17, 1954 in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by parents Lois and John Myers and brother-in-law Terry Katzman. Survived by wife Jean of 39 years and sons Daniel Myers and Eric Myers (Jenny), and two wonderful grandchildren Hank and George, siblings Debbie Finch (John), Paul (Ann), Penny and several nieces and nephews. Dan graduated from Golden Valley High School where he excelled in swimming winning the State Championship in the Individual Medley in 1972 and the State record. He earned a swimming scholarship at the U of M where he was a 4-time letter winner. He went on to be a dedicated swimming coach and then worked at Hennepin County Human Services for many years. Dan loved his family. He enjoyed getting together with friends, fishing, golf, MN Twins, Gopher football and basketball and was a HUGE Vikings fan. His quick wit and humor will be missed by all. Thanks to the care of staff at Haven Homes, Maple Plain where he spent the last few months. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 9th from 2-6 p.m. at the Mound American Legion.
