Obituary for James Wendell "Jim" Wing
James Wendell Wing
IBEW Local 292. Born November 20, 1944 and died September 1, 2022. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Rita in 1967. They enjoyed traveling together, playing golf and building their lake home. Much of his time at the lake was spent boating and fishing with his kids and grandkids, watching birds and sitting by the bonfire. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family and was always there with a quick joke and an infectious laugh. He also spent time coaching all three of his daughters on the softball field and teaching them to enjoy the game. He spent 50 years as a Journeyman Electrician in Minneapolis and imparted that knowledge onto his three sons-in-law whom he often helped with house projects. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will remember him for his kindness, humor, and warm smile.
Jim is preceded in death by his father Eadell Wing and mother Ima Wing, sister Sharon Eigen, brother-in-law Marlin Eigen, and grandsons Nathan Larson and Bennett Larson.
He is survived by Rita his wife of 55 years, daughters Heidi ( Bruce) Larson, Melissa (Mark) Schmit, Tracy (Aaron) Norman and his grandchildren Wyatt Larson, Nolan Larson, Aaron Schmit, Brandon Schmit, Cal Schmit, Danielle Schmit, Brooke Norman, and Bryce Norman
Memorial service 2 PM Monday 9/26 at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie, with visitation starting at 1:00 PM.
