Erich Joseph Weidner Jr., of Chanhassen passed away December 15, 2021. Born in Chicago, IL to Erich and Dolores (Thommes) Weidner. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, Niles, IL and from St. Benedictine College, Atchison, KS. He was a commissioned officer in the US Army Infantry in Vietnam. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife’s parents. Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy, sons Bryan (Erika) of Riverhead, NY, Erich (Britta) of Golden Valley, MN, grandchildren Connor Sadeli, Kaleb, Lucas and Maya Sadeli-Weidner, Soren, Mattias and Linnea Weidner, sister Mary (Bill) Rinaldi, brother Michael (Joan) Weidner all of FL, many relatives, friends and neighbors. He was a good listener, always had a smile for everyone and will be missed by many. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, February 19 at St. Hubert Catholic Community, 8201 Main Street, Chanhassen, with visitation starting at 9:30 AM. Reception to follow Mass at the Chanhassen American Legion Post 580, 290 Lake Dr. E, Chanhassen. Interment 11 AM Tuesday, February 22 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
