Obituary for Ella Doretta Sickmann (Miller)
Ella D. Sickmann, age 86, passed away on Nov 10, 2022 at Augustana Chapel View Care Center, Hoskins.
Ella was born March 9, 1936 in New Ulm, MN. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1954 and was married to Gerald Steffer Oct 30, 1955.
Ella worked as a typesetter for the Arlington Enterprise newspaper. She was the head bookkeeper for the Arlington Hospital before becoming bookkeeper for the City of Arlington.
On April 2, 2002 Ella married Earlyn Sickmann. They made their home in Eden Prairie. Ella and Earlyn enjoyed their family and traveling together. They made many trips to Alaska, Ohio, Montana and Wyoming.
Ella was an avid quilter and enjoyed many years as part of the Arlington quilters group. She belonged to the Arlington United Methodist Church. After moving to Eden Prairie she became a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minnetonka.
Ella is survived by her husband Earlyn Sickmann, brother August (Bernice) Miller, children Terry (Tony) McAnally, Richard Steffer, Wendy (Ahmad) Abderrahim, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Stepdaughters Cindy (Scott) Gillete, Lisa (Paul) Mikrut, Susan (Randy) Schaefer and their families.
Ella is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Cecelia Miller, husband Gerald Steffer, siblings Verna Briest, Cecelia Dvorak and Walter Miller.
