Elizabeth (Betty) Gutai departed this life at the age of 88 on July 22, 2021 in Chanhassen, MN. Daughter of the late Dorothy and Edwin Damon, she and her brother, the late Thomas Damon, grew up in Wayland, MA. A 1954 graduate of Bryn Mawr College, she returned to Massachusetts and married the late John A. Gutai, Jr. She and John raised their family In Westfield, NJ, where she was active in her church, the League of Women Voters, served as a Girl Scout Leader and started her career as a computer programmer. She and John also lived and worked in Corinth, MS; Hickory, NC; and Cerritos & Long Beach, CA before she retired in Eden Prairie, MN. Betty will be remembered for her passion for New York Times crossword puzzles (in ink), her love of reading, her many knitting, sewing and cooking projects, and especially her devotion to her family. Beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her daughters Carolyn Maurer of Grand Rapids, MI, Elizabeth Drehman of Chelmsford, MA and Sarah Baker of Eden Prairie, MN and by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
