Obituary for Donna Mae Marceau (Maier)
Donna Mae (Maier) Marceau age 96 of Edina, MN passed away peacefully at her home on August 30, 2023 watching the Twins game.
Born on July 29, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to her immigrant parents, Sophie and Charles Anton Maier. Donna spent many hours at Turner Hall participating in gymnastics and dance programs. She valued her Catholic education at the Academy of Holy Angels. Working in the family bakery as a young girl was the start of her lifetime love of baking and cooking that always brought family and friends together. She blazed a trail with her knowledge and passion for nutrition, health and exercise. Known and loved for her classy, sassy, predictably unpredictable personality. Her love of family chaos included keeping up with skiing, baseball, hockey and soccer schedules.
Holding on to her memory are Bill (Rocky), Janine (David Gramling), Joannie (Mike) Moerkoert, James Biere (Eva), Andrew (Kim), Anthony (Lora); grandchildren Mimi (Joe), Liz (Pete), Jackie (Jeff), Caroline, Christina (Brandon), Cady, Aleksandr, Blaise, Luka, Michaela, Tyler, Emily, Alyssa and Matthew; great-grandchildren Izzy, Ben, Will, Lukas, Jayce, Kayden and Cooper; special goddaughters Jeanne and Kathleen Maier; nieces and nephews in the Maier, Enright and Nicklay families and many friends, especially at Edina West.
Waiting for her in heaven is our dad, John C. Marceau, her loving children Nuie (2022) and John Jr. (2022), her siblings Dody, Eddie and Arlene.
Memorial Mass at St. Victoria Catholic Church, Victoria, MN Wednesday, September 13 at 11:00 am with Visitation at 10:00am. Donna Mae will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
