Matthew Spaulding Ruddy Jr., age 91 of Chanhassen, died June 29, 2018. Survived by loving wife of 58 years Joan, children Rebecca (Marlene), Matthew and Timothy, grandchildren Courtney and Matthew Francis, sister Mary (Sam) Leppla and sister-in-law Jane as well as many other family and friends. Preceded in death by son Thomas, parents Matthew and Louise and brother Mike. Matt graduated from the Minneapolis School of Art now MCAD in 1949 and soon began a 40 year career as an artist in the advertising field. He won many awards for his creative work. He was a Befriender at St. Joseph’s Church in Hopkins, a proud member of AA, and avid reader and a knowledgeable history buff. His favorite places to visit were Lake Superior and the North Shore. Anyone who net Matt always described him as a good man. He loved his children and grandchildren. Matt and Joan raised Courtney since she was 5 years old. He so enjoyed his years with her and he was so proud of her. We all love and miss him.
