Obituary for Donald Misa "Don" Wigand
Donald M. Wigand
Donald (Don) M. Wigand, age 50, of Mound, MN, passed away while on vacation in Florida, a place he loved with dear friends, on September 2, 2018.
Don was born on March 23, 1968, to Allan C. Wigand and Alzbeta (Elke) Halaj Wigand in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Mound Westonka High School in 1986. He grew up and lived his whole life in Mound, MN, a town he loved, amongst friends he adored and cherished. He was a skilled carpenter by trade and a loving person by heart.
Don's passions included visiting with friends and family, laughing and hugging. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was always wanting to do one or the other. He loved lending a helping hand anytime he was asked.
Don is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, Allan C. Wigand, and many relatives throughout the world.
Don is survived by his mother, Elke Wigand, his sister, Diana Wigand, his Uncle, Richard (Dick) Wigand, many relatives in Serbia and around the world, and an abundance of friends.
A visitation will be held at Huber Funeral Home, 1801 Commerce Blvd. Mound, Saturday, September 15, from 4pm – 8pm. The Memorial service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2451 Fairview Lane, Mound on Sunday, September 16, at 2:00pm. There will be a visitation at St. John's one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at the Mound American Legion, Post 398.
Internment will held on later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, Don would love donations to be made to the Westonka Food Shelf.
Don, you will forever be in our hearts and are greatly missed. We all love you!
