Obituary for Robert Alfred Vanden Branden

Vanden Branden, Robert Passed away peacefully July 11, 2018 at St. Therese Hospice Shoreview, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years; Elaine, parents Alfred and Amanda, siblings Norbert, Bernard, Ione, sons Karl and Kris. Bob was born June 6, 1926 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He attended Annunciation School and graduated from West Senior High. After graduation he joined the Army. Most of his active duty was spent in Washington D.C as an Army Intelligence Officer. He left active duty as a Major, but remained in the Reserves for an additional 20 years. When he returned to Green Bay he was employed by Northwest Engineering, and went to St. Norbert's College. Upon graduation in 1952 he was a Safety Engineer with State Auto Company of Des Moines, Iowa. He met Elaine Lindrud in 1947. They were married at the Cathedral in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 18, 1949. Their marriage was blessed with seven children; Keith (Anita), Kurt (Catherine), Karl, Kent (Linda), Kris, Kraig (Dena), Katherine (David). Bob purchased Carver County Insurance Agency in Chaska, which he and Elaine operated until their retirement. They moved to Mission, Texas, living in Fiesta Village and Southern Oasis. They moved back to Minnesota Oct. 2013 living at The Glenn Hopkins Senior Community. Private interment: July 26, 10 am Resurrection Cemetery, Shorewood, Minnesota.
