Savoie, James Joseph of Excelsior Born March 23, 1930 Died June 6, 2018. Survived by devoted wife Mary of 63 years; children, Stephen (Pamela), Savoie, Lisa Savoie-Sorenson, Beth Savoie, and Molly (Jim) Sikorski; foster daughter, Karla Peterson; grandchildren, Meghan, Allie, TJ, Nick, Noah, Carly, Eric, Jacob, Haley, Jenni and Marquise; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Joshua and Alex; sister, Mary Slind; brothers, Thomas Savoie and Gene Ebner; and many extended family members. Preceded in death by parents, Leo and Margaret Savoie; brothers, Richard, Roger, and David Savoie; and sister Jeanette Hebert. Jim was a devoted husband, father and man of great faith. A Eucharistic minister and prayer warrior, he was a man of highest integrity. Proud Air Force Veteran and St. Thomas Graduate, he started Savoie Supply, later adding SanTek. He had a song for every occasion. A beautiful and loving soul has left this earth. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10 AM with visitation 1 hour prior, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 680 Mill Street, Excelsior (952-474-8868). Visitation Wednesday, June 13, 4-7 PM, also at St. John the Baptist Cathholic Church (gathering space). Reception following the service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
