Mary Ellen McGinnis, age 59, of Mound, passed peacefully on January 1, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father, John McGinnis and brother, Patrick McGinnis. She is survived by her mother, Dolores McGinnis; sisters, Maureen (Chris) Connery, and Molly McGinnis; brother, Kevin McGinnis; nephews, Collin & Liam Connery; longtime partner, Dan Krieg; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Mary Ellen graduated from Mound Westonka High School and Gustavus Adolphus College. She was a member of the Minneapolis Menagerie RFC and will be dearly missed by the Twin Cities Rugby Community. She loved cats, gardening, cooking, and all sports…especially baseball and football (go Vikes!). Mary Ellen's life will be celebrated with an Irish Wake Open House on Sunday, January 21 at Jake O’Connor’s, 200 Water St., Excelsior, from 3pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
