Verne Harvey  Knoll
Knoll, Verne H., passed away on October 3. 2017. Verne was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on April 2, 1918 to Emil and Adella (Seehagen) Knoll. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1936. He attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his undergraduate degree and a law degree. A WWII veteran, he served as company commander in the 104th infantry “Timberwolves”. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and through Germany to the Mulde River. After his retirement as Deputy Director of the Bureau of Personnel for the state of Wisconsin, he and his wife, Evelyn, moved to Tonka Bay. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances (Joseph) Graff, brothers Merlin and Oliver and his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Klatt). He is survived by son Judson (Judy) of Madison Wisconsin, daughters Justine (Dr. Robert) Haselow, Edina and Jennifer (Guy) Doot, Minnetrista, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Our family wishes to thank those who befriended and cared for our father at Lake Minnetonka Shores, in Spring Park. Memorial service at 8 p.m. Friday, October 20th at Huber Funeral Home, 520 Second St. Excelsior with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Memorials to the Arthritis Foundation or the donor’s choice.
