John Calvin "JC"  Sailor
Sailor, John C. age 92, passed away at his home on October 1, 2017. John was born in Cissna Park, IL, September 1925. He was a WWII Combat Veteran in the US Army, 86th Infantry Division, serving in both Europe and the Pacific. Among his awards for service were the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. After the war he enrolled at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1950. He was a long time employee of Super Valu / Preferred Products in Hopkins, MN. John was a passionate wood carver and enjoyed his many friends he met through this hobby. Preceded in death by wife Gladys, brother Charles, and sister Arcelia. Survived by sons Philip (Wendy) of Chanhassen, MN; Paul (Karin) of Cissna Park, IL; Andrew (Virginia) of Wayzata, MN; grandson, John Sailor; brother in-law, William Reid; nephews, Raymon Houghton, Barry Morgan, Ray Norberg, and Chuck, Jim, and Bill Reagan. Memorial service Friday, October 13, 7:00-9:00 pm, Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie, MN. Memorials preferred to the Minnesota Veterans Home, 5101 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
