Lester M. Adams, age 101, of Mound, passed peacefully on August 23, 2017. He is preceded in death by wife, LaVonne; parents, Henry and Ida; and siblings, Elmer, Esther, and Ray. He is survived by children, Peggy Engelby of Sargeant, MN, Linda Long of Wichita, KS, James (Joan) Adams of Taunton, MA, and Richard Adams of Mound, MN; grandchildren, Michael Engelby, Angela (Dale) Strieter, Joseph (Lisa) Long, Lisa Darling, James Adams, Jr., and Mandy McDonnell; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb Schuman, Breanna and Brooke Long, James III, Ryan, Marrissa and Madalyn Adams; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lester was a technical Sgt. In the Army, instructing mechanics during WWII. After the war, he travelled many places with the Army Corps. Of Engineers. Lester and LaVonne then married and moved to Mound, where he worked at Tonka Toys for over 30 years. He liked to hunt and fish but fishing was his passion. A memorial gathering will be held at Huber Funeral Home, 1801 Commerce Blvd, Mound, on Monday, September 18th from 10am-11:30am. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Legion Post #0398, 2333 Wilshire Blvd, Mound, MN 55364.
