Life Story for Joseph Robert Lofrano

Lofrano, Joseph Robert age 83 passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on July 29, 2017. Survived by his loving wife Virginia, son Ty (Tammy) Lofrano, daughter Callie (Steve) Dinndorf, grandchildren Lea & Josh Dinndorf, brother Spence (Marlene) Lofrano, brother-in-law LeRoy Freiborg. Preceded in death by parents Joseph & Elizabeth Lofrano, and sisters Barbara Freiborg and Carmella Lofrano. Joe was raised and graduated from high school in St. Louis Park. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He married Virginia in 1959 where they moved and established their home for 57 years on Lake Minnetonka’s Crystal Bay. Joe was a successful business owner for over 40 years. Joe loved many activities including snowmobiling, tennis, golfing, boating, camping, downhill & water skiing. He loved taking the family up to northern Minnesota to either camp in the motor home or to a friend’s cabin to enjoy the many water activities and companionship. Joe had an absolute passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with relatives and friends filled his life. Whether it was up north to the deer woods for opener of deer hunting with the family, out west to Montana for an elk hunt, on one of those special fishing trips for opener, or jumping on the snowmobile and traveling across Lake of the Woods to drop a line to ice fish. Joe truly enjoyed the active life style and sharing that with his many family and friends. Visitation, Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4-7pm with rosary at 6:30pm at Huber Funeral Home 1801 Commerce Blvd. Mound, MN. Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am on Friday, August 4 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church 2385 Commerce Blvd. Mound, MN, with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to a cause of the donor’s choice.
