Obituary for Kim Morrison Schuler

Kim Morrison Schuler
Kim Morrison Schuler, age 62, of Minnetrista, formerly of Cary, NC and Grygla, MN, passed away April 6, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father, George Schuler II. He is survived by loving wife of 42 years, Susan; daughters, Carlye (Brandon) Landin, Jill Schuler (Jenny Choi), and Abigail (Tom) Burnstein; grandchildren, Beckett, Asher and Easton Landin, and Griffin Burnstein; mother, Barbara; 2 sisters and 3 brothers; 2 adoring dogs, Tucker and Ruby Burt; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kim was a smart, hardworking man who was dedicated to each of his chosen professions. He spent 25 years as a farmer in Grygla, MN, 10 years as a geotechnical engineering inspector at Trigon Engineering in Raleigh, NC, and his remaining years as a steel inspector for Westinghouse in Hutchinson, MN. While his jobs were varied, the common theme they shared was that Kim made solid and long-lasting friendships at each one. Many will fondly remember Kim’s quick wit, great sense of humor, steadfast loyalty and willingness to help a friend in need. A devoted husband, loving father and doting “Papa,” Kim loved his family more than anything. After two decades of being the only man in the family, Kim was overjoyed to welcome two sons-in-law and four grandsons into the fold. Kim enjoyed spending time in Hawaii with Sue, visiting his daughters and their families, and spoiling his grandsons as much as possible. His kind and generous spirit will be missed.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 11 at 2pm at Huber Funeral Home (1801 Commerce Blvd, Mound) with a visitation one hour prior.
