Schulte, James Edwin aka "Big Jim" age 83 of Waconia, MN, and long time resident of Mound passed away suddenly on March 31, 2017. Preceeded in death by parents Edwin and Leone Schulte of Rochester, MN. Survived by his wife Jacqueline of Waconia; sons Jeffrey (Kathryn) Schulte of Minnetrista, MN; Jay (Susan) Schulte of Rocky River, OH; Theodore (Nancy) Schulte of Austin, TX; grandchildren Allison Michaelis (Ryan), Anna Schulte and fiance Jason Cook, Tyler Schulte, Megan Schulte and Madelynn Schulte; and great grandson Blake Michaelis. Jim was born in Rochester in 1933 and was a 1951 graduate of Rochester High School and Captain of the 1950-51 Rochester Football Team. He graduated from St. Cloud State Teachers College and taught mathematics at Mound Westonka High School for 36 years. Big Jim was a hero and inspiration to his family and a friend to everyone he met. He was devoted to his wife Jackie and unfailingly supported her through her ongoing physical challenges. He loved playing and watching golf and adored his children, grandchildren and newest great grandson. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to have met him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 5-7 PM at Huber Funeral Home in Mound, MN. (952) 472-1716. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 7, at 11 AM, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service at Bethel United Methodist Church 2116 Commerce Blvd in Mound (952) 472-1522.
